Future People.

Would it be bad if there were no future people? Well, concerning current people we'd never even know who is here in the future. So it wouldn't necessarily harm us in any way, although it may harm the people we will bring into the world at any certain time. Say there is some type of choice to be made like in the article "Energy Policy and the Further Future" by Derek Parfit, and in making this choice we as a generation will remain completely unharmed, but our children or grandchildren will face some time of harmful virus or disease. We personally won't be harmed but our loved ones would, along with the world of future people went extinct. Without those people who take care of the worlds ecosystem it would die off and become a ball of nothingness. So to answer the given question, if there were no future people it'd be harmful for people we may have loved and possibly the earth itself.
